iConomy
Libertas uses the iConomy plugin for currency and money transfer. We utilize a diamond-based currency, which allows for a fungible, divisible, stable medium for trade. At any Bank, a diamond may be exchanged for 100 Crowns, and one Crown is the equivalent of 100 Marks.
Banks: At least one Bank is available in every Faction. Right click to exchange diamonds or Crowns. Sneak-Right click to exchange by larger units.
| Command | Explanation |
|---|---|
| /money: | Displays your balance |
| /money pay [other player] [amount in Crowns] | Pays Money To Other Players |
Factions
Factions is the plugin used by our server to limit griefing, encourage teamwork, and allow for alliances, intrigue, and war within a seamless roleplay experience. A (moderately helpful) user guide is available from the plugin developers here. The best way to learn about this plugin for a new player is to read through the /factions help in-game.
Included in the purchase of a faction are 1 safe-zone claim and 6 war-zone claims which may be used to create arenas.
A few details on the configuration:
Cost to create a faction: 20,000 Crowns
Cost to set faction home: 200 Crowns
Cost to claim a chunk: 5 Crowns
Max power per player: 800
Power lost on death: 100
Warzone Power Loss: Disabled (You can fight in arenas without penalty)
Mob Explosions in Faction Land: Disabled (No block damage from creepers, etc.)
TNT in Faction Land: Enabled (only when a faction member is online)
| Command | Explanation |
|---|---|
| /f help [n] | Displays page number “n” of the command guide |

Shops: Showcase Standalone (removed and replaced with ChestShop. More details coming)
ShowcaseStandalone for the shop mechanic. Instructions below are courtesey of dev.bukkit.org
We’ve designed ShowCaseStandalone (“SCS“) to be easy to manage and use. For shop owners, creating a shop is as easy as holding the material, and typing /scs sell to create a showcase to sell items, /scs buy to create a showcase to buy items, or /scs display to display an item.
As a customer, you simply left click a showcase to get information about the transaction, such as material, quantity and price. Right click to purchase or sell that material. If you sneak-right click, which is typically shift-right click, you will buy in larger quantities (typically a stack at a time).
For all the commands below, arguments in <> are mandatory, and arguments in [] are optional. : specifies either/or.
Creating Showcases
There are three types of showcases that you can create: a sell-showcase, where you sell items to other players; a buy-showcase, where you buy items from other players; and a display-showcase, where you simply place an item up for display.
/scs sell:buy [item:this] [amount:unlimited] [price]
For the Buy and Sell showcases, the last three arguments are optional. However, if you wish to specify one of the later arguments (such as price), you must include the previous arguments (such as item and amount).
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| sell:buy | mandatory | which type of showcase you want to create |
| [item:this] | optional | creates the showcase for the item you specify, or the one you are holding (‘this’). Note: using ‘this’ is only mandatory when you are supplying additional arguments. |
| [amount:unlimited] | optional | Specifies the amount of the item to buy or sell. If omitted, the default value is the number of the item you are holding when issuing the command. Players with special permissions can create unlimited shops. They will buy or sell infinite amounts of items. |
| [price] | optional | Specifies the price for the showcase. If omitted, the price defaults to 1.0. |
/scs display [item:this]
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| [item:this] | optional | creates a display showcase for the item you specify, or the one you are holding (‘this’). If you omit the argument, it will create one for the item you are holding. |
Examples
| Command | Explanation |
|---|---|
| /scs sell torch 10 1.5 | We want to sell 10 torches for 1.5 each. |
| /scs buy this unlimited | We want to buy an infinite amount of the item we’re holding. Price defaults to 1.0 |
| /scs sell | We want to sell the enchanted sword we’re holding. Amount defaults to what we’re holding, price defaults to 1.0 |
| /scs display 41 | We want to create a display for a block of gold (item # 41). |
| /scs exchange log:1 wood:1 1 4 | Creates a exchange shop and puts 1 log:1 form the players inventory in it. 1 log:1 will be sold for 4 wood:1 |
Note: When selling (or buying) unique items, such as enchanted and/or used tools, weapon or armor, you must use the /scs sell:buy command on what you are holding. At this time, It is impossible to specify an enchantment in the item field. Instead using the ‘this’ command will allow the plugin to read the condition of the item you’re selling and apply that to the shop.
Manage Showcases
| Commands | Explanation |
|---|---|
| /scs add [amount] | Adds items to your showcase. If you omit [amount], it will add all items you are carrying that match the item in the showcase. Note: for used or enchanted items, it will only add items that exactly match the item in the showcase. |
| /scs get [amount] | Removes items to your showcase. If you omit [amount], it will remove all items from the showcase that you can carry. |
| /scs remove | Delete a showcase. You will get any inventory currently stored in the showcase. If you cannot carry it all, you will receive what you can carry, and the showcase will not be removed. |
| /scs price <amount> | Changes the price of the buy/sell showcase to the amount specified. |
| /scs owner <owner> | Transfer the ownership of the showcase to another player. |
| /scs amount <amount> | Change the buy-amount for a buy showcase. This is the amount of items your showcase will buy before going inactive. |
Aborting an Action
Since all commands are two steps, issuing the command and then right clicking on the showcase, you can abort a command by typing /scs abort.

Portecoulissante (and RetractableBridge)
Portecoulissante allows the creation of gates. RetractableBridge allows creation of bridges. No commands needed!
Directions for Portecoulissante courtesy of Bukkit:
- Build the portcullis itself by stacking rows of fences (wood or iron), at least two wide and two high.
- Build the wall around it to contain it. Leave enough empty space above the portcullis to allow it to go as high as you want it to go.
- Power the portcullis by powering one of the blocks adjacent to it on either side, by attaching a lever or redstone dust. For now, the power has to come from the side.
- The result should look something like this:
RetractableBridge works similarly. See link.
Chairs
This plugin allows players to sit on “chairs” (stairs) by shift-left clicking.
NoNPCTrade
Libertas uses a player-driven free market. The fixed exchange rates imposed by the Villager Trading system implemented in 1.4.5 would make this economy impossible. For this reason, NoNPCTrade was installed to block villager trading, seamlessly removing it from gameplay.
Warps
Several warps through space and time exist in Libertas. A list of these warps is available through the command /warps list. They are accessed by typing /warp [warp name]. It is unknown if all these warps are safe, how long they will remain stable, or if new warps will appear. Extreme caution is suggested–unwary players have died exploring some warps. One additional warp is available where new players first enter this world. It is safe and accessible at any time by typing /spawn.
| Commands | Explanation |
|---|---|
| /warps list | Displays all available warps |
| /warp <name> | Teleports player to specified location |
| /spawn | Teleports player to spawn |
Wither
Prohibits wither from destroying block to prevent griefing and damage to the landscape.
