Itherian Lore!

Itheria dates back hundreds of years beyond its entrance into the world of Libertas.

Volume 1. Recounts the early history of our people, and introduces you to our world before Libertas.

Then known as the nation of Oen.

Volume 2. Starts the story of the downfall of Oen and the battle that would drive us from our home.

Volume 3. Tells of the narrow escape, and the last desperate battle fought to save our old home.

More will be added to this collection, songs, stories, ballads and more.
Enjoy!
(Note: Some of the stories written here are still being finished and may contain errors).

IMPORTANT READ: Welcome to the New Age!

The Libertas Server is proud to announce its update to Minecraft 1.6.2 – the Horse Update!

This update brings some major changes that everyone should research (here is a basic place to start)

Most notable changes:

  • Horses, Donkeys, and Mules! They are spawned in plains biomes, trainable, rideable, and pretty much awesome. Look them up!
  • New Blocks! Including baked clay (stainable!), coal blocks, and hay bales.
  • Minecarts! Nothing too exciting, but you now hit Left Shift to exit a minecart. Important to know.
  • ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! Zombies now will see and approach you from 40 blocks away (previously only 16), AND have a chance to spawn friends when they take damage. This means that fighting in the dark can quickly escalate until you are surrounded by an ANGRY HORDE OF DOZENS OF ZOMBIES (leading to the fresh-coined unit of measurement, the dozombie).
  • MORE ZOMBIES! Zombies and pigmen can now spawn as babies, which are wicked fast, small, and don’t burn in the sun. As if the hordes weren’t bad enough. This game just got a lot harder.

To update your game experience you will need to download the NEW LAUNCHER here. The old program does not work anymore. You will also need new Resource Packs (the Texture Pack system replacement which allows customized textures, sounds, and more). We are working on a semi-official resource pack for people who like that sort of thing. It is still a work in progress, but available here. (If you just want a higher-res version of the default, look at Minecraft Enhanced. Many people on the server use John Smith Legacy).

Happy riding, building, and surviving!

Amagi with the first horse on the server. (Note that this was an admin test-horse. After testing, it was released for a photo-shoot, and then de-spawned)

Downtime and Update

We are experiencing some downtime from the VPS that hosts our server. We have a ticket in asking about the problem, but for now the server is down. Rest assured we’ll be back up and running as soon as possible.

Additionally, we are super excited about the updates in 1.6.2! We’ll get our server on that sometime shortly after CraftBukkit updates (a critical foundation of our server infrastructure).

Finally, you should be aware by now that hoppers are enabled. Enjoy!

Where Things Stand

Minecraft released 1.5.2. As should be expected if you have played much on this (or any other) server, we are not quite ready to update the server yet. We’re waiting on CraftBukkit and other back-end things to be ready. DO NOT UPDATE YOUR CLIENT TO 1.5.2.

Also, creation of shops is currently blocked due to a bug. We are working on a solution. Existing shops should function normally.
